The drive to Kilkenny City is approx. 90mins. On arrival you have a refreshment stop and get a tea or coffee.

Afterwards you can have time to browse the art and craft design store where you will get the opportunity to purchase a souvenir or a gift that has been produced by a local artist.

You will be guided on a walking tour of Kilkenny City, where you get to visit some of the historical buildings that are inside the "Medieval Mile". On the tour you will visit Saint Canice's Church and the Round Tower, which were constructed in the 12th century. Round Towers are the most significant stone buildings to have survived from pre-Norman times. There are 52 original Round Towers in Ireland and most Round Towers are damaged internally. Only two in the country can be climbed internally, St Canice's in Kilkenny being one of them.

The guided tour of Kilkenny Castle is provided by a resident tour guide. You will visit the magnificent rooms that are filled with furniture, artwork and artifacts from the powerful Butler family, who lived in the castle. The castle gardens are situated next to the River Noir, where you can enjoy a leisurely walk.
